About

Shean Phillips completed an undergraduate degree in Bible with a Youth Ministry concentration from Piedmont International University in 1997. He went on to pastor in various roles (Associate, Family, Small Groups and Youth) until 2014. Shean received a graduate degree in Youth Ministry in 2006 and another one in Christian Education in 2007 both from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, VA. Shean currently serves as a professor at Piedmont International University where he teaches in the Alford School of Ministry and in his church where he leads a group teenage guys. Shean is starting his 11th year teaching at the university level. Shean is extremely passionate about family ministry and this passion is evident both inside and outside of the classroom. He wrote his doctoral dissertation on ministry to the family and has also incorporated family ministry into much of his philosophy and teaching about youth ministry.

Shean is a frequent speaker at youth rallies, camps, Christian school chapels, and various youth ministry training events. Shean is a member of the National Network of Youth Ministries, and the Baptist Association of Christian Educators. Shean plays basketball regularly with the men in his church, rides bike often with his children on a 7-mile loop around Salem Lake, and is known to frequent the local disc golf courses when the weather is nice.  Shean currently resides in Winston Salem, NC with his wife Angie and two daughters. They enjoy spending time outdoors and in their FAM Cave (basement living/game room).
