General Policies

  • Talking
    • All talking or noise in the library should be kept at or below a moderate volume.
    • Extended conversation – In the Student Conference Room and Casual Zone
    • Casual conversation - In the center aisle and Casual Zone
    • Quiet conversation – In the Quiet Zone
    • No conversation – In the Silent Zone
  • Cell phones should be turned to vibrate while in the library, and extended phone conversations should be taken outside the library.
  • Food and drinks may be consumed in the library.
  • The library office is primarily a work area and not a place for socializing.
  • Computers
    • Search Computers - These two aisle computers are exclusively for searching the library’s collection and the research tools on them.
    • General Use Computers - The rest of the computers in the library may be used for all other computer needs.
    • Use by those outside the University family
      • No more than one General Use Computer may be used by these at any given time.
      • This computer use will be assigned on a “first come first serve” basis, with priority being given to adults.
      • Those who are part of the university family have priority over those who are not.
  • Disciplinary action may be taken against anyone found to be defacing or mutilating library materials or property.
