Public Libraries

  • No formal agreement exists between the Manuel Library and any public library.
  • Patrons who live in a state, even if only for part of the year, are strongly urged to make use of these other libraries and obtain a public library card or membership.
  • A public library card or membership provides free access and checkout privileges to the public library’s physical and digital resources.
    • For example, in North Carolina, the public library system’s online resources website is NCLIVE, and extensive access to eBooks, audiobooks, videos, periodicals, etc. can be found there.
    • Other states have similar public library services.

Academic, School, and Special Libraries

  • Patrons are encouraged to make use of these other libraries.
  • Many libraries allow on-site access and use of their physical resources and even digital resources.
