JaVon Summers

Assistant Basketball Coach


 Coach JaVon Summers is well known in the basketball arena. Born and raised in Winston-Salem, he played basketball at Carver High School and was a four-year starter at Piedmont International University. As a player, he was consistently ranked top 5 in the nation for assists and steals. During his senior year, he led the team to win the 2015 NCCAA South Region Championship, Piedmont’s second championship in the school history.

JaVon graduated from Piedmont International University with a 3.4 GPA and earning honors with his Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Christian Ministries with a minor in Coaching and Recreation. He is presently working toward his Master’s of Arts in Leadership.

Coach Summers works closely with coach Josh Howard and is helping build the baskeball program as he teaches his strengths to players. JaVon is passionate about helping young men develop their talent both on and off the court and desires that all his players reach their highest level of potential. He also desires all players to excell as students, develop charater and leadership skills and become better Christian men.
