Purpose of Institutional Effectiveness:

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness provides institution-wide support by promoting data-informed decision making and institutional self-study.  The office seeks to build the efficiency and effectiveness of the University through assessments, surveys, and analysis.

Accreditation:

  • Piedmont is a member of the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) having been awarded Reaffirmed status as a Category IV institution by the TRACS Accreditation Commission on April 13, 2010; this status is effective for a period of ten years. TRACS is approved by both the United States Department of Education and the Council on Higher Education in America (CHEA).
  • Piedmont awards doctorate's, master’s, bachelor’s and associate’s degrees, as well as certificates.
  • Graduates of Piedmont's Teacher Education program are also entitled to certification through the American Association of Christian Schools and the Association of Christian Schools International.
  • Students are eligible for Federal financial aid. Piedmont also has the pursuit of regional accreditation as a part of our strategic plan for the future.

IPEDS Data Feedback Report

The figures in the IPEDS Data Feedback Reports provide selected indicators for Piedmont International University and a comparison group of institutions.  The figures are based on data collected during the respective IPEDS collection cycle.  The reports provide a list of pre-selected comparison group institutions and the criteria used for their selection.  Additional information about these indicators and the pre-selected comparison group are provided in the Methodological Notes at the end of the report.

Student Survey

Every spring, PIU invites students to give feedback on their academic and social experiences at the university.  This year, we used three surveys designed by Ruffalo Noel Levitz (RNL):  the Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI) for main campus students, the Priorities Survey for Online Learners (PSOL), and the Institutional Priorities Survey (IPS)  for faculty and staff.  

  • SSI Response Rate: 34%
  • PSOL Response Rate: 26%
  • IPS Response Rate: 52%
  • Institutional Strengths:
    • Financial Arid Counselors are helpful and knowledgeable. 
    • Faculty are knowledgeable in their field.
    • Academic advisors are accessible and care about student success. 
    • The Business Office is open during hours which are convenient for most students.  Online students find the billing and payment procedures convenient. 
    • Students are able to register for classes with few conflicts, and online registration procedures are convenient.
