  • PIUNET. Piedmont’s secure file and print server network. Using password-protected access, PIU provides each student, staff, or faculty member with a secure network account, which may be used for network storage and printing.
  • Email. Piedmont provides each student, staff, and faculty member with a PIU email address. Email access is available from any internet-capable device, using a web interface called MyPIU.
  • Google G Suite. Students, staff, and faculty members now have free access to Google G Suite for Education.
  • Office 365. Students, staff, and faculty members now have free access to Microsoft Office 365. You are now able to install Office 365 on up to 5 PCs or Macs, as well as mobile devices, including Windows Mobile, Apple IOS, and Android.
  • Wireless network access. Wireless access points have been deployed around campus, enabling wireless PIUNET and/or internet access throughout the entire campus (including the library, student center, and dormitories).
  • Internet in the dormitories. Each dormitory room has two Ethernet ports allowing both occupants of a room to connect their personal computers to the PIUNET.
  • Student Center. The Student Center offers both wireless network access, as well as four computers for PIUNET and/or internet access.
  • Network Printing. Network printers are available to staff and faculty throughout the PIUNET. Network printers have also been placed in the the Library and Student Center for student use.
  • Student Laptop Bundles. Purchase a business grade laptop for on campus or online class usage. Each computer comes with 2 years of full support while you're attending Piedmont. Learn more about the program.

Office 365

PiedmontU’s Technology Department is excited to announce that all PiedmontU students, staff, and faculty now have free access to Microsoft Office 365. You are now able to install Office 365 on up to 5 PCs or Macs, as well as mobile devices, including Windows Mobile, Apple IOS, and Android.

Office 365 is a fully‐installed application, which allows you to create reports and presentations with the latest versions of the applications you know and trust. Office 365 includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other components.

To gain access, simply navigate using a web browser to https://portal.office.com. Sign in using your @piedmontu.edu email address and MyPIU password. Once signed in you will have the option to download and install Office 365 onto your PC or Mac.

Office 365 is also available on Apple IOS, Windows Mobile, and Android through the various app stores.

 

FAQs:
How long can I use this plan? 
You can use the plan until you graduate or are no longer enrolled at PiedmontU. At expiration, the Office applications enter a reduced‐functionality mode, which means documents can be viewed but it isn’t possible to edit or create new documents.

Who manages the OneDrive account provided with this offer? 
Your account is managed by PiedmontU’s Technology Department.

Can I share the plan with others? 
Office 365 Education is only licensed for use by eligible students, staff, and faculty members at PiedmontU.
